Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
